The series consists of the records of the Board of Trustees of the Southern Education Foundation from 1937-1970. The records include minutes of meeting, annual reports, and vital financial records. The minutes include those of the Board of Trustees (1937-1970) and the Executive Committee (1941-1970), a standing committee of the Board of Trustees. Also included are the minutes and proceedings of the meetings of the general membership (1938-1954, 1967-1970). Annual reports are available from 1938-1950 and for 1963-1964. Financial records include correspondence with banks and investment companies regarding the investments of the Southern Education Foundation (1937-1945); budget dockets (1952-1978); financial reports (1942-1963), such as check and deposit registers and general ledgers; and vouchers.
